Occupy Wall Street to Main Street

Occupy Wall Street to Main Street

In today's current economic climate your average citizen is spiraling backwards financially.
This out of control spin is a direct result of years of leadership negligence in Washington.
This negligence is a direct focus of economic suicide that has caused millions of people in this country to suffer, and in some cases, lose everything they own.The negligence I am speaking about has really surfaced within the last decade. The bailout of the automotive industry, which was warranted as they had to pay the money back. The Auto industry today, has applied that money to help make the industry stronger than ever and has created jobs that the bailout was intended to save.

The residential housing market crash.

This resulted as a direct result of major banking and real estate companies financing toxic loans just to continue profitability at any cost. Well, that cost is what you and I have to pay now and for years to come. Do you think the few people that approved this financial policy within their
companies paid for any of this? No, they received huge bonuses when the government provided their companies with bail out money. A bailout that has not produced the same results that are present within he Automotive industry. Some one got rich off the bailout money and it was not the 99%.

War in Iraq & Afghanistan.

And now, we spend billions of dollars monthly to fight wars over seas that have not produced the results we wanted. Yes, we took care of Osama bin laden, finally. However, it has cost us billions upon billions of dollars and hundreds of hundreds of American lives for the life of one man. How's that return on our investment going Washington? No wonder we are having financial problems.
Yes, we made a dent in the Taliban, and have exposed Pakistan for what they truly are and that is loyal to their own while they take our money for their own wealth. But once we leave Afghanistan, the Taliban will move right back in and take control. Why will they you ask?
That's how they produce their own wealth. They take from others so that they may have. Wow, sounds like our banking industry.

OCCUPY Now.

Currently, we have a great movement running rampant across this country. Something we haven't seen since the likes of the Vietnam War. All across America people of all races, economic standards (that fall within the 99%), and different political parties are marching and demonstrating in major cities. Their focus is not just a linear one ,but a gambit of issues. One person is their because they are homeless. While another is demonstrating because they lost their home. And a lot of people are their because they are unemployed or underemployed. Collectively, they are raising their voices and practicing free speech. Their message is clear, fix this country, or get out of office.

You see, the reason we are having these problems is that the people in Washington D.C. really don't care for the average person. What they care for are the donations and financial support given to them by wealthy and rich people, and corporate donations. How many of the people in Washington has called up one person that has not provided for them financially and offered to fix their problems? I wager, none! Even the President did not make major ruckus until his popularity numbers plummeted and he realized he was in danger of losing his re-election. The money that is donated, they get to keep after they leave office. And in some cases, this equates to millions of dollars.

Now is the time for all cities to rally to the OCCUPY war cry and hold your own demonstrations. However, don't only focus on banks and financial institutions, but focus on every Senator's and Representative's office as well. Call their offices, call the White House, and call every local and state government office you can. Let them know how unhappy you are. Let them know that they answer to you. Let them know, if they don't do what you want, you will not vote for them in the next election. Only after repeated calls and repeated meetings will this country turn around. Even then, I don't think this will work. Why? Not everyone will follow through with this. People will pick sides that benefit them most. Just like the Colonials that sided with Great Britain during the Colonial War as they thought the Red Coats would win.
Well instead of the Red coats are coming, the red coats are coming, we are shouting the suits are coming, the suits are coming. They will steal your house and lay you off to turn a profit.

I honestly don't know if President's JOB Plan will help anyone in this country, but I do know that it will cost billions of dollars more than we are spending right now. That is in addition to the money we are spending on the housing market, and the billions it cost monthly to finance the two wars we are in. Here is an idea, redirect that wasted money on those endeavors back to the people of the U.S.A. I don't pretend to know what is going on in Washington, but what I do know is that the same people there are the exact same people that have voted for the policies and laws that have backed us up against the ropes today.

Even the media can help turn this around. Not by just covering this movement, and not by taking sides for their own interests. But by coordinating job fairs, by asking leading experts to come on air and write articles as to what it will take and what ideas they have to help turn this country around. But alas, this won't happen in great numbers either. Why? They are too busy reporting the dreaded and lowly criminal activity in their own communities.
Not that we don't have the right to know, but right now, the important thing is getting America back to work and making money. A person making minimum wage must work 8 to 10 hours before they can buy 10 gallons of gas.

How can you help? Just make sure that you take action. Do something. Open a business. Call your Senator. Write a letter to the editor. Do something. Start an OCCUPY "Main Street" in your home town!
